The circuit topologies of VRM are completely studied, and the control methods of VRM are synthetically analyzed. The research of this paper intends to realize high efficiency, high power density, fast dynamic response of VRM, and compares topologies' operational principle and performance, then points out the applicable fields of all kinds of topologies. Furthermore, the suitable control methods of VRM are discussed. The non-insulated topology characteristics, steady and dynamic principles, parameter design of VRM applied for low-input voltage situation are mainly analyzed. The theory and capability of multi-channel interleaving topology and the magnetic integrated technique are investigated thoroughly. The result of study shows the SR-QSW-BUCK converter adopted interleaving and magnetic integrated techniques achieves high efficiency, low volume, fast transient response, and satisfies severe performance requirements of VRM.The non-insulated topologies applied for middle-input voltage and the insulated topologies applied for high-input voltage are discussed, the operational models of topologies are established, and the relevant topologies are improved, then the important parameters of VRM are studied. In particular, the magnetic integrated techniques of the doubler-current rectifier topology applied for the secondary circuit of the transformer are researched carefully. The control circuits and the control methods of VRM are analyzed and compared, the mathematic model of V2 control method is built, and the advantages of this control method is summarized.PSPICE and MATLAB simulation are employed in the paper, the simulation results accord with the theoretic study.
