The VRM is used for DC– DC converter intently powering computer's CPU. It's difficult and hot to design VRM(Voltage Regulator Module) in the low voltage and high current field. The more integrated ultra-large-scale integrated circuits, the lower the VRM output voltage (≤1 V) and the higher the output current (≥100 A), at the same time, the characteristics like the high efficiency, the high power density and the fast dynamic response must be needed, which gave the power designers unprecedented challenges.This paper consists three parts: First the history of the development of VRM was reviewed, the current situation of the research and the prospects application was analyzed, the key point of the VRM design was pointed. In order to improve the performance of VRM, the technologies of synchronous rectification, interleaved parallel, magnetic integrated were used to solve the problem of VRM. In this paper, 2-phase Buck interleaved parallel converters combined with resonant circuit to explain the above-mentioned techniques in detail; Second the parameters selected and designed of the main circuit and control circuit were gived; Third the 12 V input voltage regulator modules with simulation and experiment were verified in detail.This issue designed and produced a experimental prototype which is 12 V DC input. 2-phase Buck interleaved parallel converter, combined with synchronous rectification technology, can greatly reduce the filter of the capacitor, speed up the whole dynamics speed, improve the efficiency of transformation. the ripple current constant can reduce the filter inductance, thereby reducing the entire DC - DC converter size; resonant circuit can make a Zero-Voltage-Open for the main switch, by parasitic capacitance and the demagnetizing reset of the leakage inductance resonant of the transform, can simply the circuit, which has a widely use in low voltage and high current situation.
