The hump is one of the most important railway facilities in marshaling stations. The capacity and the modern degree of the hump decide the adapting capacity of a marshaling station. Especially in recent years, along with national market economy prosperity, transportation has developed quickly. The railway system plays a leading role in traffic and transportation system and its transportation capacity has beenimproved from time to time, and the hump facilities have developedquickly in the railway marshaling stations too. The transformation and escalation project of the hump is frequent, so the transportation capacity of the "spots"has been improved greatly and adapted to the continued growth of traffic.The hump of Houma north railway station is a mid-automation of hump yard. The auto-controlled system equipped with hook cars way and the semi-automated controlled system of hook cars'sliding speed ensure the capability of hump disintegration. Both the hump length face and signaling facilities have born with defect, so it give anceal trouble to the safety of hump running; For the running of the hump facilities, operation efficiency and safety have some contradictions, the facilities have defect which would have an effect on safety and not overcoming itself; In addition, daily operation of hump has some questions to solve.Based on the basic principle of humps, the text analyses the hump of Houma north railway station from the above three sides and looks into concerned countermeasures, then from the aspects of improving the preparing work of disintegration, enforcing device maintence ,task controlling and enhancing inlock .The paper comes up with the strategy for hump devices. From the aspects of making full use of station device,enforcing task organization and equipping dul-line device ,the paper put forward some advise. From the aspects of safety and efficiency mentality, improving workers' skill, the paper gives out some strategy on making up with the defect and magnifying control. At the same time, it also suggests to carry out auto control to the gliding pace of the hump and change the hump vertical section. The aim of the paper is to solve the problem now with the Houma north station by the means of all kinds of practice in order to meet with the requirement of railway transportation.
