Railway stations are traffic constructions with characteristic which is huge space, high glazing ratio, strong population fluidity with complex background, complicated lighting system, running24/7. And to some extent, these features increase the energy consumption of air-conditioning system, which has accounted for over60%of total energy consumption as primary component. How to saving the energy of air-conditioning system with a precondition to guarantee passengers’comfort in different climates has become a hot issue.Taken ventilation cooling of the north railway stations as research background, firstly, this paper presents climate regionalization standards of railway stations in north China by analyzing division results that has been investigated and divided the north China into four districts which are Temperate monsoon climate, Continental temperate monsoon climate, Temperate continental climate and Plateau climate. Then, revised the thermal comfort standard on the basis of research done from two aspects of indoor air velocity and relative humidity by analyzing thermal environment of wait hall, and thus established thermal comfort evaluation standards of the north railway stations in natural ventilation condition.Choosing Harbin, Xi’an, Urumchi and Sining to represent local climate, used EnergyPlus to simulate thermal environment of them in two natural ventilation situations in waiting room of different size stations in summer and transition seasons. And combining thermal cmfort evaluation standard obtain high temperature periods and them in the long-to-short order of Xi’an (Continental temperate monsoon climate), Urumchi (Temperate continental climate), Harbin (Temperate monsoon climate) and Sining (Plateau climate). For the areas natural ventilation can’t meet demands, proposed and studied ventilation cooling methods suitable according to the local climate. Eventually, used EnergyPlus to simulate passengers’thermal comfort situation and energy consumption of different ventilation cooling systems after optimizing, to obtain energy-saving rate compared with traditional air conditioning.
