| At present, much research on the settling slurry horizontal pipeline transportation has been done, but theory research on the inclined pipeline transportation is much less. Especially the study on the hydraulic gradient in the inclined pipes is nearly blank. Slope pipes are used in the actual production widely, especially in the long-distance pipeline transportation, so it has the practical value to study their hydraulic gradient. On the basis of published research of experts and scholars, relations among the velocity of water, that of solid particles and that of settling slurry have been established by the analysis of momentum transmission between water and solid particles in the upward inclined pipeline. Then the calculation formulae for the upward-inclined-pipe hydraulic gradient are derived. The calculation results are highly in accord with the present experimental data. Therefore, the results of this paper can provide certain basis for the determination of the most optimal scheme in the slurry pipeline transportation engineering. |
