An-Kang Reservoir is located on the upstream of Han River, which is a multi-purpose, large scale hydraulic project. There are many research works on its flood forecasting and operation in these more than ten years. Based on the works, we need to solve the following problems at present. (1) the flood forecasting results, time period; (2) the different operation models and solution methods; (3) how to dispatch the flood in different gates, and how to use the expert knowledge; (4) evaluation the control schemes in real time; etc.Aimed at the practical problems, we had done: (1) Taking the weather factor in flood forecasting model; (2)Introducing the experience and knowledge of experts, the gates controlling software system has been developed: (3)Application the AHP method into the evaluation of operation schemes, based on the index system; (4)Fuzzy integrated judgment was applied in the operation models as a new module.The following conclusions are much helpful for our further reservoir operation. (1) We still need the high techniques in forecasting model, especially the modern information techniques; (2) Comparing the different operation models and solving methods on practical reservoir, the reasonable results could be obtained; (3) The expert system is the most important part in reservoir operation software, which is applied in the gates control system; (4) It is very important to evaluation the operation schemes. Taking the evaluation methods as a new module in real application; (5) Based on the index system, the AHP and the fuzzy integrated judgment are useful.The research works all above, are just a beginning of our real works. Underthe practical application, there are many new problems need to be done.
