The paper introduced the research background and development of the type 8912.7mm large caliber machine gun and took it as the research objects and summarized the overall structure and working principle. Simulation analysis of the dynamic model, the gun system dynamics and recoil reduction effectiveness were studied.Based on the automatic weapon gas dynamics and classical interior ballistics theory, the mathematical model was established using MATLAB software programming to explore the propellant gas pressure of interior ballistic period and after-effect period, and the gas chamber pressure changed regulation.Using ADAMS software to establish the model of a rigid flexible coupling system and dynamic analysis, motion characteristics of automatic mechanism were studied in the firing process, and machine gun recoil force and recoil displacement were tested, which provided a baseline for comparison.By recommending the internal energy reducing machine gun recoil technology, nozzle flow backstepping recoilless gun was introduced. Different types of nozzle structure were brought up, the mathematical models were established, and the bore pressure curves of interior ballistic period and after-effect period and the gas chamber pressure curves under different structures were calculated. By selecting optimum nozzle structure types and making analysis and simulation on the gun system, the recoil foce and recoil displacement were detected, resulted that the jet gas recoilless gun system can effectively reduce the recoil force based on the projectile muzzle velocity unchanged.By introducing the muzzle brake, the mathematical model was established combined with equations of gas dynamics to explore the impact on the performance of machine gun recoil system. Then the best reducing recoil programme was put forward combined nozzle reduction recoil technology.
