Since the late60s the motor optimization design problem is put forward, it has been one of research hotspots in the electric field. This topic comes from Jiangmen university-industry cooperation project whose name is the research and application of the salient pole capacitor motor. It is based on the electromagnetic computing program of a electric company in Jiangmen and upgrades. It uses optimization algorithm to gain the further optimization of the electromagnetic calculation result. When it designs the optimization program, it takes the performance requirements of a preliminary calculation as the direction and regards reducing the material consumption as the goal. The main purpose of the project is to develop a motor design platform which contains the mechanical design, the electromagnetic design and a good human-computer interaction interface. It helps the motor manufacturer to use the raw materials efficiently as much as possible and to reduce the design cost make on the premise of guaranteeing the customer demand. The involved motor types are the single phase induction motor.The asynchronous machine optimization design platform development mainly included three parts:the electromagnetic calculation program development, the optimization of design development and the human-computer interaction interface development. The development of the platform was researched respectively from the three parts. Finally it combined them with each other perfectly and presented a complete application to the user. To sum up, its detailed work was as follows.1. An electromagnetic calculation program was developed of asynchronous machine, which according to the basic principle of asynchronous motor electromagnetic calculation, based on electromagnetic calculation program which was used by the motor manufacturers earlier. This program could successive classification calculation the main dimensions, the winding data, the magnetic data, the starting performance, the performance rating, the no-load performance and the maximum performance data; could output performance curve and consumption of main electromagnetic materials. The program not only could be used alone, but also could be used as a subroutine of the optimization calculation program. 2. The optimization program was edited, which applied the generalized multiplier method as the main algorithm, applied the POWELL method as conjugate direction search method and the parabolic interpolation as One dimensional optimization algorithm. The optimization calculation program used the electromagnetic calculation program as a subroutine, for the calculation of objective function and constraint function.3. An asynchronous machine optimum design application program was developed with Visual studio2010C#. The functions of program as follows:(1) This program classification displays the input data with the tab, the picture and the constrained variables for optimization;(2) Provide the input file for the optimization design program, can be called separately electrically magnetic calculation program and optimization calculation program;(3) Displays the results in a new window, the data is displayed of performance curve, and has a display and print functions.
