A Study On The Spatial Pattern Of Residential Area And Its Influencing Factors In Kunming

Residential space and employment space, which are two basic functions of theutilization of land, constitute important elements of urban spatial structure and play animportant role of the development of city and the quality of life for residents. Thespatial separation of jobs-housing led to the city’s traffic congestion, restricting thefurther development of Kunming. The proposing of the new Kunming strategy aimedat easing traffic congestion and improving traffic efficiency through the way ofdistributing the functions of the main city and the population. The paper conclude theresearch of domestic and abroad jobs-housing spatial separation, define the spatialmismatch on the basis of previous studies. Taking the main city of Kunming andChenggong for example, the paper using the way of surveying as well as the methodof qualitative and quantitative to analyze the present situation of jobs-housing spatialconfiguration, aiming at the equilibrium of jobs-housing and optimizing spatialstructure of city so as to solve the traffic congestion and improve the efficiency oftransportation in the background of new Kunming construction.
