The Fukushima nuclear disaster showed us once again that nuclear power is not absolute safe. Radiation Emergency contains an important part, Radiation monitoring, which also provide the information of emergency. The vehicle radiation monitoring system can get to the specified location in radiation accident, monitor widespread environment radiation with high efficiency, provide radiation condition information to the higher authorities, provide technical support for the accident investigating, accident evaluating, taking protective action and developing solutions.The vehicle radiation monitoring system based on GIS is designed for nuclear and radiation emergency monitoring, the system is composed of vehicle monitoring system, data gaining, data communicating and data managing system. The real-time data is transmitted by3G wireless, it shows the vehicle location and radiation dose rate. Data management system is installed in Guangzhou Environmental Monitoring Center.The vehicle radiation monitoring system transmits real-time data by3G wireless, also shows the vehicle location and radiation dose rate in the same time. This system monitor widespread environment radiation with high efficiency, it not only meet the demand, but also enhance the ability of nuclear and radiation emergency monitoring. The system was doing well in the2010Guangzhou Asian Games and several emergency drills.
