Application Research Of Ground Cover In Landscape Design

Following the rapid development of modern cities and the continuous expansionof city size, the numbers of the hard landscape are growing fast in modern urbanlandscape, which intensifies the unban heat island effect. Since the excessive pursuit ofgreening rate in the soft plant landscape makes the plant landscape stereotyped,landscape effect monotonous, and spatial hierarchy not obvious, more and more peopleare eager to return to nature. Moreover, the reasonable use of ground cover plant inurban green spaces could resonate with the ideal of the viewers.In the composition of the urban landscape of green space, in addition to the arbor,arbuscle and turf grass which play the role of framework, the ground cover plant is alsoan indispensable component. From the aspects of the morphological characteristics,color and texture of foliage, ground cover plant is richer than arbor and turf grass, andits artistic effect is more obvious. At present, many scholars in China have done a lotof researches on ground cover plants and achieved much, but in the actual constructionof urban green space, it is not paid enough attention.This article first through the theoretical research, summarized the influencefactors of groundcover plants landscape aesthetic feeling, and the xian area coverplant's application status investigation and analysis, this paper summarizes the type ofdifferent space in xi 'an region the application of groundcover plants and configurationmode, and with specific cases were analyzed. Put forward the new design methods,namely, the groundcover plants landscape design, the colour of the plant and combination of composition, attitude of reconciliation, texture space structure andconvey feelings as precise design elements.This is a time in the process of the construction of Chan-Ba Ecological Districtand the arrangements of International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi'an China, somore attention should be paid to the application of ground cover plants. InternationalHorticultural Exposition 2011 Xi'an China, based on the ecological civilization withthe theme of"Nature and People in One in Chang'an" and"Nature Creativity", willcreate the natural landscape with plants as main part to build international landscapearchitectures. This thesis studies the ground cover plant in combination with history,culture and regional characteristics of Xi'an, displays the new ideas of the harmoniouscoexistence of the human and nature, as well as city and nature, and explores the futuredevelopment model that human being harmoniously co-exists with landscape, city, andnature.
