The Resource Investigation And Application Research Of Groundcover Plants In Urban Residential Districts

The concept of "returning to nature" is the common desire of urban residents. Groundcover plants, an important factor to the environmental quality of urban residence community, draw more people's attention. In terms of resources and application situation of residential groundcover plants, this paper has conducted an investigation and a comprehensive analysis of it. The main research results of this thesis are as follows:1. A field survey of groundcover plants in 15 residence community of Changsha found only 39 families and 64 kinds of groundcover plants have been applies to Changsha residence community, accounting for 13.5% of the total applicable groundcover plants. Besides, the main species of groundcover plants are Rhododendron simsii, Lorpetalum chinense var. rubrum, Ligustrum vicaryi, Ophiopogon japonicus Ker-Gwal. and so on. Some groundcover plants such as Llex cornuta, Cyperrus alternifolius, Setcreasea pallida are seldom used.2. The investigation reveals that the main problem of groundcover plants' application are there is monotonous landscape, the form of the plane composition is mainly mode stria, and the elevation of landscape lacks layering and spatial variation.3. Based on landscape ecology and biodiversity, this paper puts forward nature-Imitated landscape mode which is used in designing groundcover plants. They are tablets planting by single-species, various kinds by chimericing, the flowersmirror in gentle slope, climbing type in steep slop, overlap and drop in half pace, display along the road, mixing in the toe of wall and so on. According to the above modes, this paper has finished the landscape design of groundcover plants in Tiancheng Rongruan district.There are various plants which can be used in residence community. According to different greenbelts and its remoulding environment, proper kinds and species can be chosen under the condition of satisfying the function of greenbelt, with focusing the diversity of organisms, and exerting to the most the ecological services of groundcover plants, which are the goal of future groundcover plants landscape design.
