Research On The Design Of Contemporary Large-Space Architectural Complexity Form

Nowadays the large space building is springing up in every corner of the city, which has played a significant role in organizing life, constituting image and inheriting culture of the city. With the drastic change of times, the discovery of the complexity science, the expansion of digital media technology and the application of biological technology, the whole process to a large extent ranging from design to construction of the architecture has changed dramatically. Single design and appreciation principle which used to be adopted by architectural form of Euclidean geometry are no longer approperiate to today's complexity large space constructions. Thanks to the application of the complexity science to architecture, the space-time concept turns to be more colorful.Through the analysis of the foreground of modern large space building and of how complexity science influences architecture design, this paper concerning with the new creations of the modern large space building forms makes clearly the purpose, the significance and the range of the study. Meanwhile, the object of the whole paper is the complexity of large space building . To start with analysing deep relations of modern large space building's creation with the complexity, combining with its corresponding theories, the paper gives a detailed explanation for the form of the large space buillding,the original invitation of the complexity, and the effect of creating large space building with the complexity interference, and proposes the general direction of large space building. It also makes use of investigations, theoritical analysis, deduction,etc illustrating its complexity in terms of shape, surface, and space, summarizing various concepts, strategies as well as technical methods in design, in order to anaylise the complexity of the large space building as regarding to both form reflection and formation mechanism. Thus, on the basis of architectural design, the formal logic of modern large space building has been proposed which is reflected by the following three aspects: typologization of the shape, softening of the surface, and fluidization of the space,and the relative constructing strategies is being adopted.However, this paper is not the total research of the complexity architectural form, but just focuses on some typical examples which can be regarded as the most professional design in the field of modern large space building.. what's more, the paper creativly abstracts the original logic from complexity architectural phenomenon, forms a theoretical system that can objectively evaluate the core, logic and formation of the modern large space building and the ontology's meaning, the inner rule and the design mechanism of its complexity. The main contribution of such research is to provide both theoretical and practical evidence for understanding of the complexity in modern large space building design.
