Civil Airplane Operating Economical Anaylsis Methods And Software System

The evaluation of design is crucial in the whole course, which depends on four indexes: economy, security, liability and comfort. Economy is a primary concern and have huge implications to the fate of any future aircraft project. This study focuses on the development of a flexible framework and methods in the economics evaluation of civil aircraft based on a comparative study on several available methods for direct operating cost evaluation.Modules typically required in aircraft design, such as weight estimation, performance calculation, etc. are integrated into the system, which adopts a multi-layered structure to achieve both flexibility and ease of use. The methods are implemented in C language functions, which are called from MS EXCEL via VBA link. A database using open source solution is also implemented to provide archive in the system. The interface of this software and the tool for Excel could make it possible to connect with the database as well as to develop other functions.Validations of the system are carried out using existing aircraft data available in the public domain. And results showed that the methods are effective.
