Shear walls are commonly used in lateral force resisting system, and even the beams plays a pivotal role. Set in the middle of a coupling beams with a crack, to reduce stiffness, reduce the beams to withstand the internal forces in the earthquake, to meet the seismic requirements of connecting beam. After the WENCHUAN earthquake, we found that the single coupling beams have been damaged, while almost no damage happened on the structure of using double coupling beams . The present research on two-beam studies is relatively few deep understanding of its performance and this limit of this structure in the Project.This paper first shows with the equivalent beam method, that is, the equivalent bending equivalent and simple, and analyze each pair of beams of equivalent methods by ANSYS. And compare the various beam shear, bending moment, axial force, find the differences between double and single coupling beams. This paper also analysis the distance between a pair of beams of its internal forces.Finally, This paper analyzes a practical engineering with response spectrum analysis and nonlinear static analysis by EPDA, confirmed that double beam structure in the design and practical application has a good effect, even for the future design of the reference beam.
