Spatial steel structure has been growing bigger and bigger in size, becoming more and more complicated in structure,which prolongs the construction period and increases the uncertainties. How to make structure safe in construction period is necessary to study. At present, most studies on construction process based on special project and lacked in system, because of diversities in structure and differences from construction method.Construction methods and joints of spatial steel structure were introduced in this paper at the beginning. Present research status of the connection of steel casting was specified.Construction mechanics and time-varying mechanics have been introduced simply in this paper. Process analysis model of construction was designed by using Unit Birth and Death Technique, according to multistage cumulative analysis.Deformation and internal force of main truss in Terminal of Erdos Project in different stage of falsework sliding technology was calculated, then the result of Unit Birth and Death Technique analysis and block analysis were compared, also the effect of hinged support and fixed support. The conclusion can be used to instruct the construction of this project.The spherical cast-steel joints for Terminal of Erdos Project were designed, then were analysed under the application of standing load by ANSYS. The status of stress was got. Bearing capacity of joint was checked according to specification.MERO system and bolted sphere joint were explained in detail. The phenomenon of false screw was found in practice, so the improved bolted sphere joint was designed and manufactured. The dimension and manufacture requirement of high strength bolt, sleeve and binding screw of improved bolted sphere joint were given in this paper. The improved bolted sphere joint can avoid false screw in practice and make sure high quality of construction. Experiments of sleeve which was applied pressure on and joint under tensility showed the failure model of each part, which proved the correctness of fomula for ultimate bearing capacity.
