Now,Z-shaped column is widely used in the structure of residentialarchitecture in China, but the researches on the behavors of Z-shapedcolumn are insufficient, and the researches on the shear behavors offrame joint with Z-shaped clumns are absent. Based on the experimentstudy and theoretical analysis of shear behavors of frame joint withZ-shaped clumns, this dissertation reveals shear failure mechanism anddiscipline of frame joint with Z-shaped clumns for us. It also provides uswith the design method which can be used in practical engineering.Firstly, the shear-resistant carrying capacity experiment of frame jointwith Z-shaped clumns was carried out, through the synthetic analysis onboth crack expanding condition and failure modes, the shear failuremechanism and shear failure discipline are studied. And the axial compression ratio,stirrup reinforcement ratio and ratio of section heightto section thickness of column 1eg, which affect the shear-resistantcarrying capacity of frame joint with Z-shaped clumns, was preliminaryanalyzed.Secondly, based on the results of experiment, the nonlinear finiteelement calculation was carried out, a further study was accomplished onthe effect of those influential parameters which contained axialcompression ratio,stirrup reinforcement ratio and ratio of section heightto section thickness of column 1eg. Conclusions can be drawn asfollowing: the most important factor which affected shear-resistantcarrying capacity of frame joint with Z-shaped clumns was axialcompression ratio and stirrup reinforcement ratio.Lastly, the calculation method about shear-resistant carrying capacityof frame joint with Z-shaped clumns was studied according to theexperiment results and finite element numerical simulation results. Theregression formula and the design formula were obtained from theexperiment and numerical simulation results. Some suggestions respect topractical engineering were presented for the reference of structuredesigner.
