| China National Centre For The Performing Arts (China NCPA) has been put into used for nearly 3 years. Before this paper, there was no research of the feedback or Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) about China NCPA. As one part of the POE of NCPA, this paper, which based on audience evaluation, investigated the feedback of audience and the audience area's utilization. The four aspects of POE research scope include space, function, facilities and theater environment.Under a complete procedure of POE, the reliability of data collection and the scientificity of analysis methods were emphasized. The procedure was divided into three section including Planning, Conducting and Applying. The"Planning"including the division of labor and co-operation as well as the reviewing of related theory. The main results is the planning proposal and the schedule table; The"Conducting"procedure including initiating and managing the data-collection; The"Applying"including analyzing data and put forward a final report and suggestions.By analyzing the statistical data, a preliminary POE assessment on space, function, facilities and theater environment of audience area of NCPA is formed. On the content of the result, it can be find out that considerable differences exist among different audience groups. For the visitors and tourists, NCPA basically meets their demand and the assessment is relatively high; but for the members and audience, the specific theater environment still needs improvement.The POE results are available for architect to verify the design ideas; for NCPA managers to understand audiences'demands and to make improvement of management, facilities; and for accumulation of data and feedback for China's future theater project. The investigation procedures, the data collection methods and questionnaire design, as well as the POE Planning proposal and final report, can provides reference for the expanding of POE research of China's other theaters. |
