Vehicle suspension is one of the most important assemblies in modern autos'domain. The choses in suspension structure style and performance parameters have direct influence in vehicle handling stability. And the handling stability is one of the most important performances of vehicle. It influences not only the vehicle's handling convenience, but also the safety of a vehicle at high speed, so it is called the lifeline of the vehicle at high speed. It is laid more andmore emphasis gradually. The traditional research method can not match modern requirement of vehicles'research, so the Virtual Prototyping Technology has beenapplied in each field as a new industrial technology. This article uses ADAMS and ANSYS softwares to establish and analyze the model of the front suspension and complete vehicle.The mini sporty car which is researched in this paper is the first one of its kind in the country. Firstly, this paper chooses the structure of front suspension, after that, it designs and computes the parameters of front suspension, parameters and layout-oriented institutions of guide mechanism, and other major structural elements. The model of front suspension is set up and optimized parameterizedly based on Adams/View. And then this paper takes the finite element static and modal analysis of the low arm assembly of double wishbone suspension based on ANSYS. Finally, based on Adams/Car, it establishes the virtual prototyping model of themini sporty car, takes handling stability analysis to the vehicle on the virtual prototype model and analyzes the effect of the main factors,including massgravity center height, location of center of mass,front suspension stiffness, and the load and tire cornering stiffness. These impacts of the structural parameters to the transient response of the vehicle are the main research of this paper.
