Pilot Control Units (PCU) is one of the important sub-systems of the aircraft flight control system which composed of the mechanical components. The static and dynamic characteristics of PCU affect the aircraft control properties and flight qualities directly. It has a very important theoretical significance and engineering applications to the high-performance trainer for the research on PCU auto design.In the developing environment of VC++6.0, UG/Open API programming are employed to accomplish the Unigraphics(UG) customization. According to the customized menus and dialog boxes in UG, the parametric design of mechanical components for flight control system is achieved. And PCU is assembled with the transmission ratio of 1:1. The data interface module is developed which connects CAD model to the dynamic simulation model. The flexible body model of PCU is established using the software of MSC.PATRAN/NASTRAN and MSC.ADAMS. Based on the virtual prototyping techniques, the dynamic simulation to the PCU are conducted. Comparing with the rigid body, the influence of the flexible body to transmission ratio is analyzed. The natural frequency and dynamic stiffness of the PCU are obtained consequently.In this dissertation, UG parametric design and virtual prototyping technology are combined to achieve PCU design and the simulation. The software of the calculation and simulation for the mechanical components is developed with utilizing VC++6.0. It not only improves the design efficiency for the aircraft flight control system, but also provides the software fundamentals to shorten the cycle of product design.
