FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action Systems) is an important part of reliability engineering. Researching the FRACAS of commercial aircraft has great significance to improve the level of reliability and management technology, increase the efficiency of safety and security mechanism, and reduce the cost of reliability and management. With the development of reliability engineering theory and requirement for commercial aircraft, existing FRACAS softwares have been unable to meet the requirements of commercial aircraft that are cross-unit, cross-area cross-platform and high customizability. For the demand of commercial aircraft FRACAS, this paper first studied the main manufacturer - supplier management model for commercial aircraft, designs the FRACAS process of design and development phase. Then, with the Shark workflow engine, we designed the software framework of commercial aircraft based on workflow technology which separates the failure, analysis and corrective process of commercial aircraft from FRACAS software framework, and improves the flexibility and customizability of FRACAS. We designed the workflow-based access control model to solve the integration of Shark workflow engine and software access control modle. Finally, for the cross-database platform requirements of FRACAS, we proposed a scheme which bases on Hibernate persistence layer. This scheme raises the capacity of FRACAS compatible. This paper designed and implemented a commercial aircraft FRACAS which bases on workflow, now the prototype system is testing in a collaboration unit. The establishment and implementation of commercial aircraft FRACAS, provides a unified and standardized information exchange platform to participants of FRACAS, and advances the further development of the reliability in commercial aircraft field.
