With the quickening pace, ever-increasing pressure and accretion of the aging population, more and more people are suffering from the state of sub-healthy in the world. Chronic diseases such as hypertension and cardiovascular disease in patients have the tendency of which increases year by year and the medical expenses go along with the former. Chronic diseases have the characteristic of long course, strong concealment and more complications. Regular inspections for patients in the hospital or clinic are required which virtually increases the burden of the hospital and wastes lots of time and money of the patients.Along with the embedded technology and the development of wireless communication technology, it became possible to perform home care for the pepole who had been chronically ill and those who were in sub-health state. Based on the informatin mentioned above, a family health caring system was designed which can monitor the health status of the patients by analyzing the ECG signal and blood pressure. As soon as abnormal signal was detected, the system would alarm.This project is relatively huge, mainly contains three parts, the physiological information acquisition, the embedded system construction and the embedded software design. The major parts concerned in this paper are as follows:(1) Embedded system construction, transplanting the linux kernel, yaffs2 file system and QT/E to ARM.(2) ECG acquisition module design.(3) Blood pressure acquisition design.(4) The embedded software design based on linux kernel and QT/E. Design the GUI for family health care system. Implementing ECG data storage, dynamic waveform display, abnormal ECG analysis and blood pressure measurements.The parameter of blood pressure measurement in this paper was based on the oscillometry. Five volunteers were tested by the system. And satisfactory results were obtained by comparing with the results acquired by Korotkoff sound method. Different dynamic threshold value methods were adopted to detect QRS wave during the ECG acquisition. The validity of arrhythmia diagnosis and alarming system has been proved by using the data generated from medSim300B ECG generator and then arrhythmia can be detected accurately.A multi-parameters home health caring system was developed in this subject which had a simple and friendly interface, high scaleability and flexibility and was able to achieve low-cost and real-time monitoring. In addition, embedded system was designed in this subject which had good ability of real-time and reliability. Thus, the system was of great pratical significance.
