A Study On The Application Of Hollow Polycarbonate Panel In Contemporary Architecture Design

As the physical basis of the architectural form, material is always one of the fundamental issues of architecture. Technically, moreover, the development of architectural design can also be seen as the development of searching and utilizing the potential of materials.Today, a time owns more and more new techniques and material, Polycarbonate Panel is coming to the forefront in the field of architectural design. With the specialty of attractive translucent appearance,good physical and chemical nature,convenience in constructing and maintaining,the PC panel makes outstanding performance both in the curtain wall and skylight roof.Also,its great potential in the sustainable development represents the future of building material.However, neither the native producing technology nor the producing experience is mature. As a result, not only the learning on the PC Panel is limited but also the research on it is lack either in China. This paper focusing on such subject, therefore, has a practical significance.Based on the application of PC panel in reality, the research dose lots of case study thus making deeper analysis on the producing technology, material specialty, structure principle and construction way. Through summing up and sort out related research materials, this paper conclude and introduce some principles of the application of PC Panel in architecture field. I hope this paper can provide some help and reference to other architects in using PC Panel correctly and rationally.
