Stone, bamboo and clay has been a favored building material for thousands of years. With the development of new materials and new technologies in the revolution of modernarchitecture, the mainstream construction market turned to concrete, steel and syntheticmaterials, thus ignoring the use of natural materials. In response to the phenomenon, thearticle attempts to some attention and practice of some present architects constructed onnational materials, analyzes and discussion of current ethical concern for the environmentarchitecture and response. Through some architects and typical architectural works, the articletry to analyze and interpret the horizon of this construction method. It upholds the reflectionon environment issues of modem construction methods, and has its rationality and feasibilityfactors in design and using. It indicates a trend in architecture. About the theory and practiceof natural construction materials, generally there are three aspects in mind: First, it focused onenvironmental ethics-natural materials to build a positive effect on the environment; Second,it attended to cultural aesthetics-a natural material attached on cultural memory and bodyfeelings; at last, it concerned about the construction philosophy-time properties of naturalmaterials are extremely social value. Constructed with natural materials is another importantaspect of possible sustainable construction. It acts in both ideas and action. And this newconstruction method will not shake the theoretical system that set up by modern architecture. It is a rethinking on the field of sustainable construction. The modern architecture, especiallythe knowledge of sustainable construction, need to be developed, consolidated and expandedthrough the new practice. We need a new perspective into the architectural design of theenvironmental ethics----it is a collective of social undertakings, and it is the responsibility ofevery architect and the members of society, and it is not just the pressure of certain architects.
