The optimization design of ships is the striving direction of an academician. The ship design, even the most basic design for ship form, i.e. the Mother Form Reform (MTR) is an optimization process. The design of ship form is a foundation work of ship design; it affects directly the whole efficiency of the design period of ships. Apparently, it is important for us to design an excellent ship form. The design of ship form is vitally related to the ships resistance, and it is a revolution progress of the ship form design if we can use a mathematics method:looking for the relationship between ship resistance and ship form, and building up an optimum mathematics model. With the theoretical, experimental and computational means to explore the mechanism of wave, estimated actual ship wave resistance, and thus working to improve the ship form, has always been the central study of ship resistance.The thesis introduces the theory of wave resistance and in-depth study the Noblesse's New Sender Ship Theory. It deduces zero-order wave resistance formula, making the offsets and the wave resistance ties in together, and successfully develops a resistance calculation program. The paper uses 1957ITTC formula to calculate friction resistance. Also, using the NURBS to express the hull form, and the control points are given the inverse calculation process, primarily prepare for the smooth of hull form. Paper selects the genetic algorithm as optimization method, and uses the form of floating-point codes to speed up the optimization speed.The paper takes the Wigley hull for example, and calculates its wave resistance coefficient, and compares with the authority experiment dates. Through preparation the program of genetic algorithm and with the minimum wave resistance and the minimum total resistance as its objective function obtain the optimal ship hull. The results show that the paper's method achieves the expected goal.
