There are many inevitable ship appendages which can improve ship performance of rolling and pitching and also have influences on the flow field and the hydrodynamic performance of the ship. Therefore, the prediction of the added drag and interference due to appendages is an important issue. In order to reduce the wave resistance, a wave resistance prediction method for ship with multi-appendages is presented in this thesis, and the experiment of ship model with appendages has been conducted in the towing tank. Compared with the experimental result, the theoretical calculation can be a forceful method for the prediction of alone appendages and ship with appendages, although the precision of the method, the regression equation and the resistance atlas need to be improved.Based on Noblesse's New Slender-Ship Wave-Making Theory, the calculation formulae of zero order wave-making resistance is researched here. Besides, the wave resistance and the wave elevation of near surface submersible, ship with different appendages are studied. When considering the fluences of appendages on the flow field, every appendage is considered as an independent body traveling at the same speed of the main hull, then the wave resistance of the ship with appendages is gained by adding the Kochin function of the appendage to that of the main hull linearly. In order to validate the calculation results, the resistance experiment of near surface foil submersible and ship model with appendages have been conducted in the towing tank. In the experiment, the device for measuring resistance is improved to measure the real appendage resistance in the fluent field. Finally, the experiential formulas are summarized and the compared result of total resistance from the calculation with and without the inference due to appendages is given. After analyzing the atlas of appendage resistance calculated in the thesis, the author try to give an efficient and flexible regression formula.
