The introduction of invasive marine species into new environments by ships' ballast water has been identified as one of the four greatest threats to the world's oceans, so IMO adopted the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments. The convention asks the contracting states to take ballast water managements which include ballast water exchange, ballast water disposal or ballast water risk assessment. Exemptions to be granted to a ship basis on ballast water risk assessment is one important way of ballast water management.According to Guidelines for Risk Assessment Under Regulation A-4 of the Ballast Water Management Convention (G-7), the paper takes the species-specific risk assessment for ballast water transfer of ships which voyage between China and Korea in Yellow Sea Large Maine Ecosystem, and more. analyzes the assessment result. The following work was done.First, the assessed ports and candidate target species are selected and Dinophysis caudata, Heterocapsa circularisquama, Prorocentrum micans, Alexandrium catenella are selected as target species inaccording with the guidance of G-7.Second, the data of assessed ports, target species and ballast water are collected and collated and the databases are built.Third, the species-specific assessed modcis are designed and a related assess programme by Visual Basic is written for assessment. Finally, the species-specific risk assessment is taken for ballast water transfer of ships which voyage between China and Korea in Yellow Sea Large Maine Ecosystem, and the assessment result is analyzed.Basis on the work above, the results are a(?)yzed and a conclusion is drawn that the ballast water management exemption can (?)granted to the ships which voyage between China and Korea in Yellow Sea Large N(?)ine Ecosystem.
