Power system has important role in promoting national economic development and improving people's quality of life, but the power system of accident prevention is very difficult. Along with our country electric power industry rapid development and the power equipment automation level increased year by year, all sorts of trouble wave record device, microcomputer protection device and integrated automation devices were used widely, for further use of fault information effectively which was recorded by trouble wave record device and microcomputer relay protection device, and further accelerateing the accident processing speed, improveing the ability of failure analysis, this paper studies the relay protection and fault information system.According to the requirements for building relay protection and fault information system of power network, modeling analysis and design proposal of relay protection and fault information system are discussed in this thesis according to IEC61970 and IEC61850, the relevant international standards, basing on CORBA, the advanced distributed system technology. IEC61850 information model of secondary equipment information was encapsulated by the practice in Zibo Power Supply Company, and build the system model supporting platform which is based on IEC61970-CIM, we can visit the IEC61850 model information of secondary equipment by IEC61970-CIM view form, thus, the combination of model system of IEC61850 and IEC61970 can be able to realize. On the basis of this platform, we develop the advanced applications, such as the management of secondary equipment, calculation analysis, operation monitoring, fault analysis, and so on. The function of relay protection and fault information system can be perfected further with these advanced applications. In addition, the Stability, practicality and regularity in practical application of relay protection and fault information system are discussed in this thesis.
