The great development in social economy and material life stimulate people's more requirements in spiritual life. With the social development and changes of people's life style, the traditional expressions and designs of street space cannot meet the needs of the times, which require new and creative qualities and intention. Therefore, multidirectional methodology on modern designs of street space will be needed in the near future in order to satisfy the advanced demands of modern society, and it can be easily understood and accepted by the citizens. More specifically, refreshing designs of the street space from literary perspective is a kind of new attempt.Traditional street-designs are lack of spiritual connotations as a result of the limitation to perfect the function and appearance; and the designs focus on the works creation of the architects and planners, but they are not accepted by people. As the most fundamental communication method of human beings, language is cognitive. Literature is the sublimation of the language, including rich emotions and connotation. A piece of splendid work is regarded as a work of literature. Thus, from it's a good way to survey and design the street space and design from a literary perspective as well as solve the above issues.At the beginning, this essay discusses the basic theory of linguistics. Next, it concludes the presentations of linguistic structure. Then it studies the literary language expressed through representation forms and non-representational forms used in the street space. In the end, it takes the street regulation of Ge Ermu Road in De Lingha city as an example to prove the specific application of literary language in street space.
