Tension stringing equipment play an important role in construction machinery used for transmission lines construction, especially indispensable in the construction of over 220KV line. Intelligent level of the tension stringing can strongly reflect the capacity of the construction companies. With the rapid development of electric power construction, a lot of insecurity appears in construction machinery and equipment, the safety of which is not only directly related to the economic benefits of construction enterprises,but also related to every worker's life and national's security. Above all, tension stringing equipment is the unclear machinery and equipment in the electric power construction. Therefore, we need a remote monitoring system urgently which can detect the problems in the early age in the operational status of the tension stringing equipment to ensure tension stringing equipment continuous and reliable work in the construction. Thus, this paper takes tension stringing equipment as research object and designs a remote monitoring system. The system composed of two parts: vehicle monitoring terminal and remote monitoring center. The vehicle monitoring terminal can collect the status information of construction machinery and sent the packaged date to a remote monitoring center through the wireless network; the remote monitoring center will receive the data and stored it in the database, one for the user query, the other for the fault diagnosis system access, achieve a remote monitoring and control of the equipment. The system probably performs a great significance and broad market prospects to the electric power construction enterprises.First of all, this paper analyzed the status of remote monitoring and control in construction machinery in domestic and foreign countries,approached some related technologies and theories in the remote monitoring system of the tension stringing equipment, explained the purpose and significance of the project, then proposed the research content.Secondly, this paper introduced the basic content for tension line construction, detailed the structure of tension stringing equipment, described the common faults and causes of the equipments, discussed the principle of selecting the featured signal of the device during the operation of the machinery, then determined the location of featured signals and monitoring points. Then, this paper completed the overall program design for the remote condition monitoring of tension stringing equipment, selected the major hardware modules and software development environment according to functional requirements, and studied the signal acquisition and processing techniques. The vehicle monitoring terminal hardware and software design was finished in which the design for the peripheral circuit microcontroller module was emphasized and GPRS technology was used to achieve wireless communication between vehicle monitoring terminals and the remote monitoring center.Finally, this paper summarizes the present work, and points out the follow-up study in remote monitoring system of the tension stringing equipment. Besides, the relevant research and development prospects for this system are also submitted.
