Computer simulation technology has played an increasingly large role in the energy saving, but most daylight simulation softwares on the market can not simulate year round dynamic daylight.Daysim is a Year Dynamic Daylight Simulation Software which is developed in recent years. Few people have used it in domestic, it has not been validated, so this research verified the feasibility and applicability of Daysim.This research verified its feasibility at first, the verification of feasibility was composed by several parts of the following, compareing the caculated results of Radiance and Daysim about daylight factor, how the model affect the simulation results and the feasibility of dynamic shading function. The result shows that the Daylight Factor result of Radiance is 72% higher than Daysim when the floor of work plan is higher, the Daylight Factor result of Radiance is similar to Daysim result when the floor of work plan is lower; The greatest impact on the simulation results is the ground part of the enbironment and around buildings; the useful daylight illuminance (UDI)2000 of Daysim in the stadus of dynaminc shade has increased 4.35% than fixed shade, the useful daylight illuminance has increased 18.37%. Overall Daysim is a software that can simulate the year dynamic daylight accurately.Then this paper reseached the application of Daysim using several different types of office building, the result showed that the UDI value in the state of shade has increased 5.5% than the state of no shade, UDI2000 value decreased by 59%, while the daylight factor value is less about 49.5%. It can be seen from the results that Daysim using UDI lighting ecaluation criteria can get the results that meet the user's visual experience.This paper reaserched Daysim from the perspective of accuracy and applicability. The results shows that Daysim is useful to improve efficiency of indoor daylight, reduce building energy consumption and help architects considering daylight in design.
