With the increasing development of the shipping industry, the issue of marine biological invasions that is brought by ships'ballast water has aroused widespread concern. As the movement of ballast water, the current worldwide ecological environment and the economy have been severely affected. In view of great harms of ballast water, in the risk assessment of ballast water in the Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem, the environmental similarity of part of China and Sourth Korean ports was studied. Through the selection of indicators, in-depth analysis and calculation, finally the environmental similarity of source ports for destination ports is established. The main work is as follows:First, Dalian was selected as the recipient port, Incheon, Daesan, Gunsan, and Mokpo as donor ports to analyze the environmental similarity. For each port, six environmental data including temperature and salinity in recent years was collected and arranged, and the statistics were made on ships sailing between China and Sourth Korean ports.Second, the assessment system which including adaptability mainly, proliferation and harmful supplemented was constructed. Angle cosine law was used, and MATLAB program was called to calculate similarity to reflect adaptability. In terms of weight. according to the characteristics of different indicators, subjective and objective methods were combined for weighting.Third. Visual Basic language, combining with Excel database was used to develop the system. This environmental data and information management system mainly consisted of information query, data update, and several other modules, so it could facilitate the use of different users. Through computing the environmental similarity, the order of various environmental factors similarity is as shown:PH> Salinity> Temperature>DO>DIN>DIP; Dalian-Daesan and Dalian-Incheon have high environmental similarity, according to the results, maritime authorities would then be able to have focused on ballast water management.
