After China's accession to WTO, the relationship between the world's economies gradually get close and the trade unceasingly boost. At the same time, logistic industry, a new industry appears in the people's eye. And forklift is widely used in it as the main moving equipment. As the development of the logistics industry, people put forward higher requirements to the flexible, convenient and versatile packaging equipment, to complete work efficiently and to be safe and comfortable to the operator when they operate it.According to the survey of the forklift drivers for a certain area, the paper analysis and compares the design of domestic and international situation counterbalanced forklift, and sums up the tendency of the design of forklift. It integrate the design basis and related base of Ergonomics with industry design requirement of the design of production, to design and study comprehensively to the appearance, driver's cab and the inside and outside interpersonal environment. In the study, take full account of active safety and passive safety of man-machine system,and try to use knowledge of ergonomics into the design of safety and layout of inside and outside of forklift and In making implementing people-oriented ideas to the details of the design. First, grasp the ideas of the forklift development by vertical and horizontal comparison of vehicle's as well as the driver questionnaire. Understand the forklift drivers requirements on model. Use ergonomics to analyse and optimize forklift appearance, color, design and features of security application by design entry.Second, study common tools of human-machine design such as H piont, oval eyes,2D human body model, the first envelope, etc. With the body size and related standards of China. Optimize truck models on Chinese body-type.Filtered and optimized man-machine design tools are used to optimize and design forklift internal such as seats, instrument, control handle, drivers vision ect, with general theory of human engineering. Regard to the above, author used data of small tonnage counterbalanced forklift as the output combined with the local conditions.Finally, CATIA software was used to setup the 3D model of forklift and human body. Car-design toolkit of the CATIA software was used to verificate relevant data including vision, sitting, stretched interface. So subjective evaluation of human comfort was obtained.
