In order to ensure train operation safety and improve transport efficiency, our country urgently needs to equip advanced, safety, reliable train control system. Reference to the European Train Control System (ETCS), China's railway departments proposed to develop the Chinese Train Control System (CTCS) which appropriated to China's national conditions. The current building passenger line with over 300km/h speed and the Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway widely used the high reliable and security CTCS-3 Train Control System based on GSM-R wireless communications.In the CTCS-3 Train Control System, RBC Handover is one of the key functions of CTCS-3 On-Board Equipment, it seriously affects the the train travel efficiency.In this paper, the RBC handover of CTCS-3 On-Board Equipment is modeled analyzed with hierarchical modeling idea.Firstly, we had established the GSM-R application layer model firstly which could be used to simulate the process of data transmission in the air, the message loss and time delay caused by channel failure. Secondly, we had modeled the periodic message and non-periodic message based on the GSM-R application layer model. The non-periodic message Model can simulate the message interaction process and the message retransmission mechanism between On-Board Equipment and RBC.The establish communication session and the terminate communication session model is established based on the non-periodic message model,then we could get the RBC Handover model with one MT2 and the RBC Handover model with two MT2.Finally, the two RBC Handover methods were compared and analyzed by simulating the CPN models.While we analyzed the factors which affect the RBC Handover success rate, such as the train speed, the message retransmission time interval and RBC overlap.This method could provide guidance for the research and project implementation of CTCS-3 train control system.
