Research On Testing Automation Of Miniature Fuses' Electrical Characteristics By Using LabVIEW

Since 80's of last century, National Instruments (NI) began promoting the using of the Virtual Instrument technology. Over the last decades, with the development of the integrated circuit (IC) technology and information technology (IT), virtual instrument technology has been rapid developed and played an important role in all areas of society. On the other hand, whether from domestic or international, the instruments used in the testing of household and similar products are mostly traditional and separate instruments. The test procedures are not high degree of automation. All these lead to inefficient and cause some drawbacks.This project is based on the testing of miniature fuses which is researching of the application of virtual instrument in the testing of household and similar products. Hope that through this study we can accumulate experiences for the wide application of virtual instrument technology in the testing of household and similar products in our company.The main work includes the following three aspects:First: By utilizing the flexible configuration features of the software and hardware of virtual instrumentation, replacing the existing traditional, separated equipments with their respective acquisition system and using the microcontrollers and other hardware to make the appropriate actuator and making the PC program to make automation of the relative tests and minimize human involvement.Second: Innovatively using of the MS Office VBA (Virtual Basic for Application) technology. By using VBA, automate the test data processing, data exporting and report generation. Let us improve the efficiency of the work while eliminating the errors which may occur during the manual operation.Third: By introducing the database technology into the testing process to save all kinds of testing data which may be used by the sequential process or may be needed to be enquiry. These data were all been manual recorded. Except improving the efficiency of work this work can also provide date support to the standard updating, production improving and value-added services to customers.
