Research Onthe Conflict Detection And Resolution Of Feature Modeling Collaborative Design

With the market competition increasing, in order to shorten product development cycle and reduce the development costs, product design is changed form the traditional serial-type process to the parallel, collaborative development process. Collaborative design of Feature modeling refers to the number of the design team through the division of labor and cooperation has completed a product development project process. These teams are located in different regions and areas of expertise. There are a large number of mutual restraint, mutual influence among them, and they have difference at product development, evaluation criteria and areas of knowledge, etc. At the same time, design object or attributes also exist various interdependent relationships. Thus, in the collaborative design process, the conflicts are inevitable.In this paper, as the process of collaborative design conflicts arise, a conflict detection method of based on PERT diagram is proposed. The idea of this method is through merge PERT diagram between the different designers to identify the existence of various conflicts, which is ready for conflict resolution.Conflict resolution is a complex process. This paper presents a prototype system of conflict resolution. In the conflict resolution process, we proposed a theory of use banker algorithm to solve the deadlock to prevent from the conflict problem arising. The idea of conflict prevent is to set different weights for different designers, use banker's algorithm to distribute resource, when the designer access to resource whose weight will decrease one; contrary, whose weight will plus one. The design staffs, which have larger weight, have priority operation power. Through use the banker's algorithm can effectively avoid some potential conflicts occur, which is provide guarantee for smooth progress of the task. There is a conflict for the classification, using a prototype system for conflict resolution. Conflict resolution prototype system based on different categories of conflict, using the appropriate and effective conflict resolution strategies, the existence of the conflict to digestion. For those conflicts which are unable to use conventional methods can be used the video conferencing consultative mechanism to resolve.
