The infrared test diagnosing technology is a new modern defect diagnoses technology for the electric equipment, which is a new comprehensive technology combining engineering and theory. The defect diagnoses technology has greatly promoted the change of equipment maintenance institutional in enterprises and lowered economic loss.Along with the increasing development of defects diagnostic technology for the electric equipment, modern infrared technology undergoes steady improvements and matures day by day; the infrared test diagnosing technology for equipment develops rapidly as a handy and quick technology for equipment condition online testing. It has an extremely broad prospect of application for equipment fault diagnosis, because of its advantages such as non-contact, audio-visual, fast, safe, extensive application.This text draws the basic principle of infrared diagnoses based on the primary knowledge of infrared radiation,and analyse the imaging principle of infrared devices; From the view of infrared diagnostic technology we discuss the fault models and the principium of infrared diagnosis on electrical equipments;Then this paper research the diagnosis of electrical equipments fault by using infrared deviees,obtain the hot picture atlas of equipment fault and analysis the hot picture atlas;The research has analyzed the principle of the contacts including the contraction and the area outside the contraction while passing electric current through its image and temperature that measured by infrared thermal system and get the contact thermal conductivity model which based on the temperature and voltage parameters. By the image enhancement and edge detection methods in matlab image box to process the infrared images, the research gets accurate fault location. With VC++.Net and Aeeess2003, the research develop a temperature data management system-Flirsystem. The Flirsystem solve the problem in temperature records losing and disorder and achieve data records, delete, examine, history data inquiry and the history curve scatter and get diagnose result. All this is as reference to repairing personnel.
