The contention of resource has been the most important mission of each country for a long time, as the resource is the foundation of subsistence and development for each country all the time. Human being has begun transferring their view to the ocean for its abundant resource as the lack of resource on the land and the exploitation of ocean resource has become the competition focus in coastal countries. As a new kind of underwater operation tools, underwater vehicles are applied to science researches, seabed detecting and resource surveying more and more frequently. And as the ocean exploitation develops more deeply, the requirements to diving, voyaging and detecting range become stricter. Due to its complex structure and special working environment, the gross weight of underwater vehicle is one of the most important factors to its performance. Therefore the reasonable optimization to underwater vehicle structure becomes more necessary.The underwater vehicle optimization contains the optimization to the pressure structure and the unpressure structure. In the pressure structure optimization, taking the battery capsule construction as an example, this thesis establishes the finite element model of cylindrical shell with annular ribs by APDL in ANSYS, calculates its strength and stability, and optimizes it with iSIGHT software by multi-island genetic algorithm to get the optimal result; this thesis establishes the finite element model of hemisphere head plate with opening reinforcement, calculates its strength and stability, and optimizes it by adaptive simulated annealing method; then establishes the whole model of load-supporting framework, calculates and analyzes its strength and rigidity in the mother-ship fixation and two points suspended work conditions, and optimizes the framework structure.The purpose of this thesis is reducing the weight of underwater vehicle furthest, through studying in optimization methods to select the most efficient optimization method on underwater vehicle structure, as well as ensuring the strength and stability of the structure meeting the rules and regulations compiled by CCS, the results of the thesis could be a reference for the underwater vehicle's structure design in the future.
