Based on the characteristics of the work done by the resistance when locomotive is operating, the thesis builds the energy consumption model, and based on the locomotive operating data and traction calculation, we raise a indirect way of detecting fuel consumption. Considering the vertical section of the line, the thesis gets the optimal solution of locomotive power with genetic algorithm. We also analysis the Jinan Railway Bureau experimental data as well as two conclusions of the energy optimized control. In that way, we find the optimizing way of operating freight and passenger trains, design a locomotive evaluation and guidance system.Firstly, since we can't get fuel consumption, we raise an indirect way. We build the fuel consumption model first. Through the model, we can get the relationship between locomotive operating parameters such as speed and pressure reduction, as well as the ramps and fuel consumption. The Accuracy and precision of the model is proved by the operating data of Jinanxi to Dezhou.Secondly, the thesis analysis a new way of optimized operating with GA. The location of the semaphore is the key. Encoding the speed and operating method of this point, we can get the solution. At the same time, we can see the effect of energy saving within the example of Shierlige to Qiaonan station.Finally, with consideration of vertical section of the line, the thesis gives the optimized operating method of DF8B and DF4D respectively in Jinanxi-Dezhou and Lancun-Laiyang by using the model and GA. At the same time, the thesis gives the general conclusion of operating freight and passenger trains. It is adapted to the process of starting, stopping and long, large ramps.The fuel consumption model built in the thesis can calculate the fuel consumption in an indirect way; give the optimized speed and operating method; design the locomotive evaluation and guidance system. They are the basis of the work later.
