The Preliminary Study Of The Technology Of Conservation And Utilization Of Traditional Dwelling Buildings

The traditional dwelling buildings are one of the important components which compose the abundant traditional architectural culture of China. They bear the most of the true and abundant historic information around the historical and cultural cities, traditional villages and the historic districts of China. Meanwhile, accompanied by the development of the times and breeding of the inhabitants, they are still growing and changing. This phenomenon is the unique characteristic of conservation of traditional dwelling buildings of China. In that the difference of the values of history, culture and aesthetic, the modes of technology of conservation are various. The estimation of values, the selection of the mode of conservation and the operation of technology are important components of the technology of conservation and utilization of traditional dwelling buildings.This paper summarizes the theories of conservation of the wider category about historical architectures at first, analyzes the history of development of the ideas of conservation of different countries, the related international charters and the domestic laws and regulations, comes up with the relevant measures of estimation and classification of the values about traditional dwelling buildings which are still living and lying in the process of historic development. Then it comes up with a group of technical details of conservation and utilization aiming up to the potential problems in the conservation and utilization of traditional dwelling buildings, and interprets these details with relevant cases.The research and composition of this paper attempts to establish a group of frames and standards for the conservation and utilization of the great quantity of traditional dwelling buildings of China, fills the blanks between the conservation of heritages and the normal dwelling buildings of China, provides the references of technologies of the conservation and utilization.
