Urban Space Environment Status Research Of Small-towns Urbanization Process Of Southern Jiangsu

In the process of urbanization, As the hub of rural and urban area, the small towns have been the main force of social and economic development with its unique geographical advantages and labor resources, and it causes the rural and the city development, especially the Sunan region. In the 1980's, Sunan Model makes the small towns of Sunan region reach a peak of economic development, which is marked by the development of township enterprises. However, economic development will inevitably bring lots of construction, and strives for more effective land to build factories, warehouses and cities roads because of small towns rapid expansion, which makes urban landscape face get great improvement. However, because of restriction of traditional planning system and the peasants' cultural taste and qualities, this kind of blindfold bottom-up expansion behavior led to many serious problems, such as: buildings disorder, hyper-pressure scale and style chaos, poor visual street landscape, which have been hindered further development of small towns seriously.Reviewing the history, the traditional watery town of Sunan region had given people a deep impression: white walls with black tiles, convenient transportation, winding rivers and random strewn houses. However, ancient towns'previous prosperous was buried in the roar of mechanical factory, crushed by the blur of wheel on wide roads, and former flourishing prosperity of traditional space was driven into a corner by the modernization construction, which becomes dilapidated under siege increasingly. Urbanization had brought economic wealth, but also idle away its unique features, Stereotype construction and metropolis mode imitation make small towns lose its identity.This dissertation mainly lies in exploring the small towns atypical architecture environment change, driven by the urbanization force. By the synthetically contrasts of the traditional streets texture , street space and town node, clarifies space environment changes of small-towns construction, and reveal the underlying reasons hidden in the situation, what exactly caused the good metamorphosis, or even the bad degeneration. Analyze the current situation of significance is to provide exact materials for the city-town space environment design and further design strategy research. And foster strengths and circumvent weaknesses, express your personality, rather than follow or copying the prevalent model blindly and become nondescript.
