With the progress of the times, people pay attention to an unprecedented height for the protection and the reuse of historic buildings. Function replacement as the main way of the reuse of historic buildings, develop to a fusion of social, economic, cultural and physical space of the full revival, is a result of multi-stakeholder balance. What impact the process and results of the function replacement, how to choose the functions to be a reasonable way, become what we are concerned with.Hangzhou is a historic city, there are a large concentration of different types of historic buildings in the central city.In the new round of urban development, various forms of function replacement achieve functional regeneration of historic buildings, thereby bringing about the revival of the old city.In the course of this study, through the research of the historic buildings of downtown Hangzhou, analysis its development process, functional status and specific cases of displacement, summarize the influencing factors, the main mode of social impact and evaluation functional replacement of historic buildings in the urban renovation, then proposed measures and recommendations for the functional replacement of historic buildings in Hangzhou, provide a reference and guide to the renovation of the rapid development of Hangzhou.
