With the fast development of Dongying's economy, the seaside areas will become the key zones of the high-efficiency ecological economy of Huanghe Delta. Civil Security and Disaster Protection is one of the most important tasks. Large amount of funds have been put into the civil construction. If the storm tide attacks the city, it will generate large economic loss. Therefore, it is necessary to establish and improve the tidal protection engineering for the center of Dongying city.In order to evaluate the operating performance of artificial armor blocks for tidal protection engineering of Dongying sear area and select the proper forms of the armor blocks, the present thesis performed the investigation and comparison of the wave-absorbing and block stability of barrier boards, gecko boards and concrete plate boards using the experimental method based on the two projects of Dongying's tide-protection engineering.In the present thesis, Huanghe River's South breakwater contains four sections and uses the concrete plate boards and gecko boards as the armor blocks. Tide protection engineering includes two sections and employs the barrier boards and gecko boards as the armor blocks. The wave absorbing performance and stability of the blocks are investigated and the wave force on the parapet and overtopping thickness are tested.Hydrodynamic physical modeling experiments are tested in the wave flume, the length scale is 10.16 cases are carried out to test the six sections and 3 armor blocks for the two projects. The main contents include stability of armor blocks, wave force on the parapet and overtopping thickness on the top of the breakwaters.From the experimental tests, the wave force and overtopping phenomenon are satisfied with the demand of the engineering design.In general, the wave absorbing performance and the stability of the barrier boards is better and prior than the gecko boards, which is better than that of the concrete plate boards. Comparing with other artificial armor blocks, the barrier boards needs less earthwork and simple construction method within higher input-output ratios. Considering the operating performance and economic factors, the barrier boards is suitable for the tide protection engineering of Dongying sea areas.
