Icing of transmission lines is a serious problem, it may cause overload and dancing of the lines, and the worst situation could be the tower collapse, power rationing and other accidents. The principle of the high-frequency high-voltage de-icing method is making use of the combined effects of the dielectric loss of ice and skin effect of wires under 33KV, 100KHz incentive-induced. If only consider one of the dielectric loss of ice or skin effect of wire, it will cause uneven heat due to the standing wave, but if taking the ice dielectric loss and the skin effect into account, we can achieve the aim of uniform heating by adjusting the combined effect of the two effect. This paper introduces the hazards of icing of the transmission line, the coMMon methods of melting ice, and some new melting ice methods in recent years, , based on analysis and comparison of these methods we finally focuses on the high-frequency high-voltage de-icing method which have the high efficiency, feasibility. The device consists of an excitation source and a number of traps. The structure of the excitation source and the circuit is also introduced. As the need for the stability of the de-icing effect, adjusting the combined effect of ice dielectric loss and skin effect interaction is important, to adjusting these two effects is mainly on adjusting the excitation frequency, so how to determine the excitation source's parameters is also very important. After determining the excitation parameters and environmental parameters ,the next step is to use ANSYS software modeling and simulation of icing conductors. And finally get the outcome. Compared this results and the coMMon DC ice-melting method, we can drawn from this conclusion: high-frequency high-voltage de-icing can melt ice in effect and is more efficient methods compared with traditional DC method.High-frequency high-voltage excitation Ice-melting method is a new method of melting ice, it changes the way heat melt by external heating mode of heat directly from the ice itself, improve the efficiency of melting ice, for the Power System The ice is melting iced conductors issue of positive significance.
