Air navigation takes an extremely important position in the military field. Nevertheless, the military navigation systems of our nation still have some deficiencies, for which we have put forward a new set of navigation methods. Simply, it is the system which calculates the location of the aircraft by the data indicated in the dashboard, at the same time, the system will display flight path on the electronic map.The paper explores around the design of the front-end part of the whole navigation system, which is used to acquire the image of the dashboard. In order to meet the system requirements of low power and high processing speed, we decide to adopt the latest TMS320C6747 product from TI Corporation as core component. Finally we have successfully designed a set of image acquisition and recognition hardware platform, which has the advantage of low cost, low power consumption and high speed.The design idea and overall structure of the system are introduced in this paper. In addition, hardware and software modules are introduced in depth. Also we have designed a set of auxiliary system to predigest the text of the system and display system data on the screen in terms of images. After system testing, I perfect the functions of the system furthermore. In the end, I attempt to process image and recognize image. All test results show that the system works well. And the system can also be used in other fields where image processing and recognition are needed.
