With the rapid development of information technology and a highly improved standard of living, the demands on modernlization, power-saving and comfort of domesticity are increasing. To realize intelligent management and remote monitoring, the electronic equipments or systems are connected in the form of wireless network. Against this background, Home Automation is proposed and developed rapidly.This paper focuses on the intelligent lighting system in home automation. Aiming at the defects in the traditional lighting system, such as the complexity of wiring, the low expansibility of system, the poor effect of energy-saving and so on, the hardware platform based on MSP430F2618 and CC2520 is designed. Then, a novel intelligent lighting system based on the study of Z-Stack and related hardware development platform is developed. The system consists of intelligent lighting nodes, accessing node and data center. The luminance of light can be adjusted automatically according to the indoor brightness, the environmental information such as temperature and light intensity, can be collected periodically and transmitted to the accessing node through wireless sensor network, and the nodes can respond to the control commands including information query, topology update and on/off light duly.The research and design of hardware and software are mainly introduced in this paper. The hardware emphasizes the design of MCU module, wireless communication module and lighting control module. The software emphasizes the realization of intelligent lighting node and accessing node, including data acquisition program, lighting control program, serial communication program and wireless communication program. The application shows that this system can be controlled intelligently, and the energy can be saved efficiently. Thus, the system has an excellent applied value.
