At this stage, electro-hydraulic speed regulating technology is the effective measures to improve the performance of high-power diesel engines, also the main way to improve the strengthen indicators. In this paper, the research of electro-hydraulic speed regulating technology of diesel engine is used as objective, using the modeling and simulation methods, analysis of the hydraulic actuator and governor system's technical characteristics and design features, which provides the theoretical guidance for electro-hydraulic speed control system's domestic improved design and performance improvements. The research focus on the following implementation:The Woodward's UG-25+ electro-hydraulic governor is used as the research object, based on the in-depth analysis of its structure and working principle, this paper takes the classical control theory and hydraulic theory as the base, establishes the mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic governor's hydraulic actuator by the analytical method and establishes the simulation model of hydraulic system in Matlab/Simulink software, the hydraulic actuator's stability, steady-state characteristics and dynamic characteristics are comprehensively analyzed. The main factors and regulars which influence the performance of electro-hydraulic governor have been identified, the technical characteristics and design features of hydraulic actuator have been obtained.Application of the Matlab/Simulink software established the model of the entire speed regulating system and conducted a simulation study. By analyzing the problems that the traditional PID control algorithm faced, using a fuzzy self-tuning PID algorithm to improve it and obtain an optimized speed control algorithm. Simulation results and 16PA6-280STC diesel engine matching test results were compared; the simulated results are accorded with the tested data, which further verified the correctness and reasonableness of the model building. So that provided the theoretical basis for electro-hydraulic speed control system's domestic improved design.
