Switched reluctance machine(SRM) has lots of features such as simple structure,the better starting performance,the wide range of velocity,the high efficiency of operating. Based on SRM,the switche reluctance drive(SRD) used in the low and small power applications has strong competitiveness and more merits than normal asynchronous motor and direct current motor drive.SRD has aroused the universal concern and in-depth study of the domestic and international academics.Using TMS320F2812(DSP for motor control, made in Tl CO.)as the conrtol—core, the paper design a suit of 7.5KW SRD, and has done the software and hardware's design,simulation,production and debugging.Firstly,this paper introduces the development,characteristic and the application domain of the SRM and SRD.Secondly,this paper summarized the composition and operation mechanism of the SRD,completed the SRM's liner modals analysis,and represented the basic control strategy of SRD.Thirdly,this paper design a suit of 7.5KW SRD including the software design and hardware design.Finally,experiments have been done on the system of 7.5KW RSD.In addtion to the classic PID control, the algorithm of Self-adaptive Fuzzy Control was used in the experiment.Some useful experimental results were got and analyzed.The simulation and experimental results verified the theoretical analysis very well. The designed controller for 7.5kW switched reluctance motor has good performances, which avoids the drawbacks of the SRM controller used in many applications. The system has good cost-effectiveness, high control accuracy, and outstanding expansion flexibility. It is also expands the SRM's application fields.
