Wool keratin is a very rich renewable natural polymer materials, its source is very rich in every year has abandoned a lot of wool products, at the same time, there are many wool be discarded in the process, this is a serious waste of resources. Wool keratin has good biocompatibility, biodegradability and so on. It is a kind of natural polymer material with very high application value. So it is very important to study the development of wool keratin.In the actual production process, there are a lot of wool was abandoned. In order to improve this part of the wool use value, using waste wool yarn as raw material, using two methods of urea melt and the alkali extract of wool keratin, to explore the best wool keratin extraction method, and Study on the extraction of wool keratin properties,utilization of wool keratin protein for preparing new materials.Through the experiment, we found the urea melting method is a very excellent extraction method, extraction process is simple and convenient, and no pollution, and the products can be used for fertilization, extracting process does not produce hazardous substances, the dissolution ratio of wool was higher, achieve 70.09%. The extraction rate reached 66.72%, and extraction of wool keratin protein structure preservation is complete.In the process of extracting keratin, the dissolution rate was 92.07%, but the extraction rate was lower than that of the melting method, reaching 53.04%. And the extraction of the angle protein molecules with low molecular weight, low molecular weight.Will melt extraction of wool keratin and sodium alginate to blend prepared of blend membranes, by test and analysis show that when the keratin content is 15%, the blend membrane wrinkling restorative, mechanical performance is better, and blend membrane moisture performance is excellent.Melt extraction method of wool keratin for extraction and wool of wool keratin fully utilize provides a good way to solve this problem, and wool keratin as natural polymer materials and other fiber material blending can also prepared with the performance of the new material, suitable for further as the spinning material were studied.
