Heavy plate is indispensable important steel varieties in the process ofmodernization.In order to improve the comprehensive performance of theproduct, TMCP technology was applied and developed. Accelerated coolingis an important link in TMCP process. Studying and mastering theaccelerated cooling process is important to improve the quality of heavy plateand reduce the cost of production.Based on the accelerated cooling equipment unit in some domestic largeheavy plate mill , the process and equipment was researched.So as to meetthe requirement of expended product specification, the accelerated coolingequipment must has enough cooling range and precision. So the high pressureinjection direct quenching and laminar cooling system was selected. In thecontrol system, to realize the cooling process control, we take level 1 andlevel 2 machine as grading control.Mathematic models module is the core ofcontrol system.Taking X70 pipe line steel for example, the paper studys the continuouscooling process, and confirms its cooling rates through the actual productiontest.The result shows that the product gets satisfactory results.
